Paint works

Visited the site over the weekend and it was good too see that some work had been done.
Most of the paintwork seems to be completed now. The house looks much more fresh and bright, whereas before the paintwork it looked quite dull. We visited around 6pm and it looked pretty bright now even at that time of the day.

Internal works:
- All internal doors painted
- All walls painted
- Front door painted/stained

External works:
- Downpipes painted (dark Monument)
- Eaves painted (paperbark)
- Front maroka seems completed (Paperbark colour on bricks)
- Alfresco ceiling and timber supports painted (paperbark)

Downpipes can be seen in this pic. Colour is a little darker than our gutters.

Front door is now stained and looks much better.

Small issue with the paint job (taken as evidence)

This week we are expecting electricians and plumbers to be on site. They will fit off switches, taps, toilets etc.

  5. We were initially planning plantation shutters but have since settled on verticals due to cost. Also I don't want to worry about my plantations down the track if we ever rent the place out.
I signed paperwork yesterday, we are getting it done through Abbey Shutters&Blinds they gave us a pretty good quote.

  6. Hi Hassan,
I also thought that you would need to make blinds/shutters match the window colour. Our window colour is actually stone beige which is very close to paperbark colour. Eaves and garage and front maroka is all paperbark.

Anyway, i've found out that it is best to match the blinds/shutters with your architraves which is around your window from the inside. Our architraves are crisp white colour so our blinds will be close to that colour. Abbey will send us some samples to choose from.

In the internal linings stage your gyprock,architraves/cornices, kitchen vanities (rangehood for us as well), bathroom vanities will go in. It is the stage after bricks or roof tiles are complete. Our roof went up first then the bricks, so internal stuff went in after bricks were completed. It should roughly take 2-3 weeks. But it's hard to tell since we had xmas break inbetween.
